Motorbikes with piggyback-style shock absorbers usually have a rubber bladder reservoir separating oil & nitrogen gas. This heavy duty little balloon leaks less than the separate Internal Floating Piston seals, so most OEM rear dampers use them in their piggy back chamber - learn more about shock layouts.
The bladders use sealing alloy end caps, available in various shapes & sizes. We also carry a huge range of bladder & cap upgrades - like high capacity kits for plusher initial damping, shorter angled caps for wheel clearance, bladder conversion kits for IFP shocks, all in spectacular anodized colours!
One of these wire snap rings acts as a retainer clip to stop the bladder cap being pushed out of the shock body, and should be replaced when servicing any other components such as seals & o-rings.

All caps feature air ports so you can regas the damper after a suspension rebuild, with some models using a rubber bung that gets pierced by a regassing needle, while others have easy to refill schrader (tyre) valves. Our gassing tools have pressure gauges & adaptors so you can nitrogen charge your own shocks. Remember that once your coilover is back together you still need to tune it for your riding to get the most comfort & speed.
