Motorcycle Fork Cartridge Rod Parts

Motorbike front forks aren't just the two tubes you see on the outside - they often feature a separate internal cartridge that does the real work. The shaft that slides inside the middle of this cartridge, with the reb adjuster assembly connected to the bottom and damping piston parts attached to the top, is called the fork cartridge rod.

In a traditional oil / spring fork leg this assembly creates the rebound damping. The clickers press on the inner pushrod which adjusts the flow of fluid through the piston and shim stack held onto the end of the rod - learn more on how to use them in our damping adjusters article.
