Motorcycle Fork Left Axle Lugs

Older bikes had chrome steel pipe clamped in the triple trees, sliding inside the aluminium outer case at the bottom, with it's cast in axle clamps. This is a "Conventional" front fork & is still used on many retro cruisers - but most road or offroad sport bikes now use it's successor - "Up-Side Down" forks. USD Fork Legs have larger alloy upper tubes clamped at the top, chromed lower leg pipes sliding inside, with a separate pair of lugs at the bottom as the feet that clamp the front axle.

If your motorbike has a single front rotor, this left axle holder foot is usually the side with brake calliper mounts at the back. These OEM KYB & Showa mounting brackets are complex castings, often hard anodized, with machining operations for adjustable internals, so aren't cheap. The centre sealing bolt often holds rebound adjustment - find out how to use that adjuster effectively in our clicker setup guide.

We sell separate Inner & Outer tubes in stock alloy & chrome finishes, or if you have a bigger suspension budget, with performance coatings like Kashima Anodizing or Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) or the wild rainbow colours from Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). Please remember that whatever slick finish your tubes have, it still needs to be kept clean & maintained - dried gritty mud can scratch and kill even the toughest coating eventually - use our outer tube protectors & covers to help.

You can save time and money by buying a left fork inner tube assembly complete with with seals and axle lug already assembled - or we also sell all the separate retaining clips, spacer washers, set screws, clamping bolts, sealing o-rings and oil lock cases needed to service your front suspension. Remember that we also have factory racing kit axle lugs for a range of specific forks, or universal holeshot clamps to give an advantage off the line to most offroad motorcycles.
