Motorcycle Shock Linkage Bearing & Seal Kits

Think of your motorbike's chassis as a skeleton - all the organs to make it work get bolted on. With electronic sensors & wiring as the nerves, shoulders made from triple clamps & handlebars connecting the forks as arms, plus stock linkages & swingarms as leg bones. They're called rear swing ARMS & front fork LEGS - but you don't ride backwards, right? So close enough.

Well, like your skeleton, your frame needs flexible joints connecting all those metal bones. These shock linkage bearings push smooth friction-free progressive force over the suspension travel, linking the bottom of the coilover to the top of the swingarm. They often use several pieces; teflon ring bushes, open needle roller bearings in outer races, spherical bearings, inner spacer tubes, flanged collars, rubber lipped seals, o-rings, machined end caps, washers, wire retaining snap rings.

Shock absorber mounting bearings give precise damping response from the damper to the link, while swingarm bearings swing the wheel up & down with the terrain. Angular caged steering stem bearings at the head make for smooth cornering.

Unlike our poor old meaty arthritic bits, it's quite easy to press out the rusty worn factory components & swap in a new set - so please don't forget to maintain your steering head bearings or to service sticky or crunchy suspension mounting bearings. Teknik have servicing parts from genuine OEM manufacturers as well as performance aftermarket brands, available as individual consumables or complete rebuild packs, but if it's all too much to DIY, we can try to fit you into our busy suspension workshop.

If your human frame doesn't quite match the height of your motorcycle's, then both ends can be lowered to keep geometry perfect. Lowering or Raising Links adjust the back end alone - you can drop the fork tubes through the clamps on some models to help even it out. Link kits are pre-assembled with bearings, seals & grease nipples, so installation & maintenance is easy.

If only your human body was this easy to repair & get spares for! We'd all be in better shape. Give it a good service with plenty of lube!
