Motorcycle Suspension Shock Shaft & Rod Clamps

If you work in a motorbike dealership, are a tech in a mechanic garage or a DIY tuner; motorcycle components aren't the only things you need. Complete your jobs just like the professionals - our experienced Teknik Workshop uses the same genuine OEM & quality aftermarket suspension servicing tools, fluids & extras.

Improvising with the wrong basic tools takes forever; plus you're more likely to slip & hurt your suspension components or body. We've all been desperate & tried it though - ugly scrapes, scoring, scratching & gouges on hard outer case surface finishes, rounded off edges on rusted nuts & bolts because you can't get enough grip & torque in a tight space, often a new finger scar. Make your life easier, save some time, save your hands & parts from injury with these clamping sets.

The biggest offender is the humble bench vise - those steel knurled teeth crush for a living & some lunatics feed it expensive slippery performance coating covered shafts! Even stock chromed shock piston rods aren't about looks; a delicate rubber oil seal lip is designed to slide against that shiny face constantly for thousands of kilometres. Put a little nick in it with those hard grips & you are about to grate it & leak. Regular rebuilding & maintenance only works when it is done correctly.

So you put soft flat inserts onto those vice jaws, no risk right? Rear shock absorber rods are tubular - meaning two micro friction tangents on a smooth thin metal cylinder is trying to hold the weight of the suspension plus your pushing & turning. Get ready for a small accidental crush, but the damage doesn't stop there; everything is concentric circles. If you flatten that hollow pipe slightly, the inner bushing wears from rubbing on that, pressing & bending the pushrod it runs on, metal shavings now join in. If you don't notice that tiny pinch you may even re-use the same shaft, so repeat the same carnage in your next rebuild.

These pairs of cylindrical clamps are designed for protection over the whole wall, massively improving grip without increasing pressure. Precisely machined from reliable aluminium alloy, they're soft enough to not mark harder materials, but strong & durable enough for tough workshop services. A practical & convenient upgrade developed to help avoid tragedy - we offer options in a complete range of diameters so all motorcyclists are safe to maintain & rebuild their dampers.

Knowing your rear suspension brand, you can also find each tool by manufacturer. For any kind of offroad, enduro, race, trail, road, motocross, adventure or dirt bikes, you can refresh or replace the tricky internals inside your coilovers. So why pay a factory service department to fix & maintain your shocks?

To overhaul the other parts of your bike, try our front fork tools for restoring your pair of fork legs or specialist chassis, hub & axle tools for maintaining the rest of the body. Be a pro wrenching at home, work or at the racing circuit in the pits.
